Brief History:
Dewaine started Racing in 1995, 15 miles from home in a small town called Centerville, AR.
He started out in a "bomber" class, but after eight weekends and three feature wins, Dewaine decided he "wanted to go faster."
After stepping up into to the late model division, dewaine finished out that partial season with five wins.
In 1996 Dewaine started to branch out a little bit, racing some MLRA and SUPR series events that were close.
From 1997-1999, He competed in weekly shows at Mooney Starr's Batesville Motor Speedway. While Dewaine wasn't able to pull out a win, he had many impressive finishes. He was able to finish in the top 10 in the final point standings all three years.
In 2000, the MARS series was started up. Dewaine competed part-time in the MARS series until 2002. In 2002 he went on the tour full-time, finishing runner-up to Missouri's Joey Mack for the rookie of the year title.
Dewaine raced on the MARS tour for the next three years, and finished in the top 10 in the final standings all three years. Along the way he picked up several top 5's and many, many top 10's.
Since coming off the MARS tour Dewaine has raced closer to home, competing in the newly founded MSRA series.
In 2008, Dewaine picked up 1 feature win. He also finished 6th in the final point standings for the O'Reilly MSRA series.
In 2009, while unable to pick up a feature win, Dewaine claimed numerous heat race victories. Dewaine once again finished 6th in the MSRA final point standings.
In 2010, Hottinger will once again be competing in various regional and national events. He will be behind the wheel of a Rocket Chassis from Mark Richards Racing. |
